There are several different themes of video games that have become popular. One of the most popular themes is based on violence. Several video games are built on underlying themes of wars and violence. Consequentially, they become the causal factors which strategically cause violent thoughts and behavioral patterns amongst people. I also did an interview video assignment with Joe, my classmate, where we discussed and analyzed the NBA playoffs of 2018. In the third assignment, we were required to create a video on public service announcement. I chose to focus on three different methods of saving money on movie tickets. I collaborated with my classmates to complete the summer 2018 assignment where we researched on the Japanese pop culture. I studied how video games have revolutionized their culture. In winter 2019, I pursued a photography class where I completed a 3 photo series illustrating how past tweets from celebrities were scrutinized by the media. In another assignment, I used pictures to portray the recovery process of sexual abuse victims. We completed the photography class by making a film where I created a self-identity film on myself. The course was highly significant to me as I was able to explore my creative mature in different assignments on the creation of the self-identity film.

We have selected mental health in schools as the social issue that we will discuss. Today, many school-going children are struggling to manage with their mental health amidst the increasing anxiety, depression, self-harm, and despair among them. For instance, Anderson and Cardoza indicate that up to on in five children in the United States show signs and symptoms of mental health disorder annually (par. 1). Unfortunately, about 80 percent of the children who need mental health services do not receive the services (Anderson and Cardoza par. 1). Therefore, mental health in schools is an important social issue that should be addressed.
