Introduction The social world is a term used to describe a ‘universe of discourse’ through which common symbols, organizations, and activities emerge (Ballantine, Korgen, & Roberts, 2016). There are several examples of social worlds from both controversial and non-controversial perspectives. Examples of a controversial social world are the gay community, politics, nursing and science social worlds. Despite the existence of these social worlds, this paper will focus on the social world of politics, which will be discussed based on concepts of justice, class, race, and gender.

Writers use a variety of literary devices to pass a message to their readers, which influences the audience’s reactions to the subject matter. They also ensure that people understand the authors’ pieces (Fadaee 19). Lu Xun argues that poems were more influential in the past than they are today. Poets were highly regarded because they addressed issues affecting the society. The author uses personification and introspection to compare the ancient poetic tradition with the current situation. In the past, poems were seen as an avenue for expression; however, the culture no longer exists. As a result, lovers of poetry still feel the vacuum left by the great ancient poets. Lu Xun uses personification to explain the effect of poetry on people’s lives.

An individual identity is a sense of belonging to a group and may include aspects of a person’s life that he/she may have no control over. Identity can either be relational, personal, social, collective, or superficial. The focus should be on identity development in which people come to develop a sense and understanding of themselves within the context of cultural demands and social norms (Brooks & Chinedu 25). Identity development is a primary developmental task of the transition from dependency to responsibility for an individual’s needs, interests, aspirations, drives, and desires in adulthood. Some psychologists believe that developmental changes occur gradually and the achievement at each level build on those of the previous levels. Beyond the basic need for a sense of control, human beings are deeply driven by their sense of identity. Identity correlates with the fundamental values that direct the decisions people make throughout their lives. Some people internalize the values of their parents or the dominant culture (Ideology and Moral Philosophy 2). However, these values may not be in line with a person’s authentic self. Identity can come from within or outside an individual, and it changes overtime due to circumstances.

Chiron, also known as Little, is the protagonist in Barry Jenkins’s film, “Moonlight”. The film takes us through Chiron’s journey from his childhood to adulthood while exploring his life’s experiences and the people who shaped him into the man he becomes emotionally, physically and sexually. However, the basis for this growth is evident in the first 10 minutes. The main problem faced by the protagonist within these minutes is constant bullying because other boys perceive him as different. Based on the script, “three young boys (adolescents, 12/13 years old) with sticks chasing Little who is running, terrified” (Jenkins & McCraney, 2017, p. 2).

Development and functions of eye retina The process of vision begins in the retina where the sensory information is captured by cone and rod photoreceptors in the outer retina and then integrated, processed, and transmitted to the brain. Eye defects which affect retina at any age of growth impair vision of an individual. The defects can arise very early in eye development especially when the primary structure of the eye is generated during optic cup morphogenesis (Dyer & Cepko, 2001). At an early age, the rapidly proliferating retina is made up of retinal pigment epithelium and the retinal neuroepithelium (Dyer & Cepko, 2001). The retinal pigment epithelium is responsible for correct differentiation of the retina and photoreceptors. In this regard, its maturation depends on the final steps in photoreceptor differentiation. The basic components of the inter-photoreceptor matrix are secreted apically while proteins meant for Bruch’s membrane are secreted basally. The Bruch’s membrane induces RPE differentiation and polarity (Graw, 2010). The photoreceptor cells are divided into an inner segment containing organelles and an outer segment containing cilium (Graw, 2010). Typically, discs from the inner segments are replaced continuously.

These facilities play an eccentric role in shaping the perspectives of individuals towards life and influence their interaction with their immediate environment. Notably, Pasadena is one of the prime cultural zones in the United States because of the geographical features that are situated along the San Gabriel Valley. Located along the Colorado Boulevard, visitors cannot fail to notice the brown tile exterior features as they walk towards the Tournament of Roses Parade. Its location exposes individuals to a cultural space that enhances their cognitive skills and appreciation of art. Hence, when art-enthusiasts visit this museum, they have certain expectations informed by its reputation in the United States.

Democracy is derived from the social contract theory, whereby the citizens delegate their power to an institution, that is, the government to take care of their welfare. In the United States, the Democrats and the Republicans form the government. The African Americans, Hispanics, and the minority groups of immigrants believe that the Democrats have more liberal policies that address social issues such as racism, crime, and education than the Republicans do. In California, Black Americans and Latinos form a significant percentage of the entire population. However, the persistent question is whether these minority groups gain more from the democratic government than from the Republican one. This inquiry is particularly relevant in light of the democratic framework, which is largely founded on brutality, inequalities, and domination in the slavery era. The effects of slavery in the modern day include racism and oppression against the minority. These factors ultimately lead to poverty due to the high dependency on minimum wage. Racism and oppression are the two major factors that make the idealism of equality an elusive dream for the African Americans and Hispanics.
